The festival is like a candy store and I am a fat kid. I went into a film binge and it was worth every moment. People from around the world walked the building. There where films playing all day every moment. I myself caught one Cannes festival and two market screening films...oh yeah the Cannes film market was going on at the same time. Its like a flee market with unsold films. It was cool to find the distributors of some of my favorite films.
The screening of Four Minutes Till the End was fast and amazing. I sat down and my head was spinning with excitement as the lights dimmed. Before I knew it the screening was over. After that I meet some new friends who took part in the 48 hours but who I had never meet. Most of my time was spent hanging out with John Jackson of Aidin 5. Cool cat. Good times.
The cherry on top....we where in France on the Riviera...not to shabby from a kid from Brownsville and a small time filmmaker in San Antonio.
Sadly to say the day I left they where screening both Inglorious Bastards and Drag Me to Hell...DAMN YOU TIME!! That's ok because one day i will run into one of my heroes Sam Raimi. Well I will participating in this years 48 Hour and I would love the chance to go back again know that I know how to work the festival.
Till next time ladies and gentlemen...I hope to see you soon.
